Let The Night Roar will CRUSH you on Wednesday July 7th

Let The Night Roar is performing at the Drunken Unicorn on Wednesday, July 7th

"Released by MeteorCity in 2009, Let the Night Roar is a scorching and violent slab of perfectly executed sludge metal, it is that good. Let The Night Roar specializes in pretty gritty doom sludge metal. This is a brutal album, no doubt about it. With every subsequent riff, one cannot help but feel like one is getting ran over by a couple of tanks." ----Deaf Sparrow Zine

"San Francisco experi-metallers name have created one of the most creative releases of the year so far. The way name takes metal with such an open mind is incredible. Their latest Lifeforce Records release Internet Killed The Audio Star is beautiful with all of its rich melodies and elaborate soundscapes... The album is a great play from start to finish, and is definitely a thinker... 3 band members create this colossal of a sound. Guitarist/vocalist Wes Fareas puts on one hell of a performance with his bluesy and jam-based clean vocals, and he's tearing off faces the next second with deep and sincere screams. Point being, there is so much good influence being drawn into Internet Killed The Audio Star that you could just call this release as a tribute to music as a whole. [The album] has "Charmer"... An eerie and experimental soundscape claws along in the intro complimenting Wes Fareas' creepy yet catchy clean vocals. Internet Killed The Audio Star is bloody fucking brilliant. There is a difference between want and need, and I'm telling you with all honesty, you NEED to go buy this album now! name could very much brand their name (no pun intended) in the future of metal; the future by keeping the unique side of metal alive." 9/10 - SMNnews.com

"Those on the prowl for progressive, dynamic post-metal that injects lushness and warmth into technically shrewd and structurally sound compositions will easily find something on Farmer's Almanac to bang their brainy heads to" -Alternative Press

"the music crafted here is wiry and flush with layers of depth while still being immediately vibrant and lively...Melodies are tempered into careening metal, slow build-up's reveal moments of beautifully serene clarity and patience dictates a steady pace" -theprp

Besides Daniel are performing on July 3rd

Saturday, July 3rd, Besides Daniel is performing at the Drunken Unicorn.

Besides Daniel is an independent folk band from Atlanta, Georgia. Embarking in 2001 as the solo project of Danny Brewer, the effort briefly became a duo of two lovers. In the winter of 2009 the group outgrew the iconic pair as the romance of the duo dissolved. Today Besides Daniel endures as a full band. Crafting unique folk songs about friendship, faith, daydreams, romance, and pain, Besides Daniel hopes to inspire love, beauty, creativity, and thoughtfulness.

The current line up includes Aaron Schorch (drums), Ryan Robertson (bass) and Danny Brewer (guitar/vocals) though a live show could, and most often does include their friends who give of their time and talent playing an eclectic array of various instruments such as; sax, cello, violin, melodica, tambourine, banjo, accordion, keys, organ, and whatever else is close at hand. At home in the hot, humid summers, chilly winters, and otherwise perfect southern metropolis of Atlanta, you'll hear a bit of the south ring through in their repertoire. While blending many influences, the group remains in rhythm with the sounds that have always come from the south-being that the members grew up about the center of Georgia.

Brewer's influences are songwriters like Bob Dylan, A.A. Bondy, Ray LaMontagne, Sufjan Stevens, Nick Drake, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), Elliott Smith, Conor Oberst, and Samuel Beam (Iron & Wine), as well as bands like Sigur Ros, Radiohead, MeWithoutYou, and Arcade Fire.

"Besides Daniel is a shining anomaly... From the first pleasant chimes of opening track “The Field” on the band's EP, one gains a warm feeling of benevolence, like a child wrapped in a blanket of comfort. Truly, the vocals have a cathartic power. [Leaves] one touched yet yearning for more. Rare moments like these are the true mark of accomplished work." -Matt Amato, Metromix Atlanta Discography

Mouse Fire is performing second.

"The full-length album debut from Lakeland indie rock quartet Mouse Fire, Wooden Teeth, has made a believer out of me. This album is an intelligent and thoughtful attempt to add substance to an otherwise uninspired string of indie-rock/pop releases over the last couple of years throughout the genre. Masterfully produced, the sound and theme are coherent and reminiscent of the last Dismemberment Plan album (Change) as well as recent offerings from Spoon and Maritime. The smooth vocals are highlighted, by guitar riffs that are darker than I originally recalled this band being. Wooden Teeth is the type of accomplishment that should garner this band more national attention, because it is that good. That being said, there is still room for improvement, and with their youth and talent central Florida music fans should be excited about having the chance to watch these guys grow and evolve before our eyes." - REAX magazine

Author's Apology headline the Drunken Unicorn on Friday, July 2nd.

"Like a fat man doing the twist. Like an old man giving back soup. These kids are on a mission for the world’s condition. Keith Bailey has been writing songs under the name Authors Apology for a hot minute now but it seems he is just coming into his own. The kid apologizes for nothing and for that we love him. He comes across like Joe Franklin hanging out with Fran Tarkenton after church." - Dry Ink Magazine

Shathouse Rats are the openers.

Shathouse Rats are American pop music recording artists who achieved success from 12:30 Am until 12:44 AM with a repertoire of hit pop songs. The duo consists of Matt Shat and Byronius Junk. They are probably best known for their singles "Love Will Keep Us Together" and "Do That to Me One More Time," as well as their television variety series which appeared on the PTL cable network. The thick minimalism of the music is replete with small amps making monster sounds, vintage keys, and howling vocals awash in fuzzy reverb. This "sound" has drawn comparisons to the likes of Jennifer Love Hewitt (the first record) and Zamfir, Master of the Pan Flute. Their motto, which is tattooed on Junk's pecker, is as follows: MAKIN ASSES SHAKE, TITTIES BOUNCE, AND SATCHEL BAGS JINGLE. GET LOADED. HOWL AT THE MOON.

July starts with the Fuck Yesss! Dance Party

Le Castle Vania returns to the Drunken Unicorn on Thursday, July 1st for Fuck Yesss!

"Le Castle Vania is the production alias of fist-pumping speaker squealer DJ Dylan, aka Dylan Eiland. Hailing from the Dirty South, Eiland was influenced more ... (more) by what he didn't want in his music from there-namely, prevalent crunk. Espousing, "Disco is the new disco," Eiland makes life-affirming Euro-electro-it's stroboscopic sleaze-pop "that sparkles and shines like Champagne at an orgy," says his boy Andrew. Le Castle Vania's melody- and mascara-streaked remixes have reshaped blog-rock champs including Snowden (Jade Tree) and 120 Days (Vice Records). Additionally, original collaborations with Brooklyn's Factory Aire plus upcoming vocoder-flecked work for indie labels including Dim Mak and iheartcomix stalk like a white tiger in old-school kicks." - rcrdlbl.com
