Guitar Wolf (Japanese: ギターウルフ) is a Japanese garage punk power trio founded in Nagasaki, Nagasaki in 1987. The band is known for songs with piercing vocals and an extremely loud style of noise-influenced punk which emphasizes heavy distortion and feedback. They coined the phrase "jet rock 'n' roll", which they also use to describe their musical style — an energetic cross between the Ramones, rockabilly, 77 punk, and garage rock. The band is part of Sony Music Japan's Ki/oon Records division.

Guitar Wolf has released nine studio albums internationally as well as a live album, numerous singles, and a retrospective compilation called Golden Black. The band members have also been featured in two B-grade science fiction horror movies: Wild Zero and Sore Losers. A collection of Guitar Wolf's most popular videos and live performances have been compiled into a limited edition DVD entitled Red Idol. In March 2005, bassist and founding member Billy, also known as Bass Wolf, died of a heart attack at the age of 38. His replacement in the band, bassist U.G., has become a permanent member of Guitar Wolf and now rounds out the trio which currently consist of band members Seiji (Guitar Wolf): U.G. (Bass Wolf); and Toru (Drum Wolf).

Oh, how lucky a person can be to find themselves in Chattanooga, TN on June 2, 2010? The place was JJ’s Bohemia and it was, as I remember, just your average, everyday open mic. Yeah, right! So, the featured artist that night was none other than Nashville, Tennessee’s own Hans Condor. I sat at the bar at first with my beer, sipping slowly with my eyes peeled and bugging out of my head at the absolute explosion going on a few feet away on the stage. Hans Condor blew me away, they really did. I chatted with the guys after the show and bought their EP and a sticker. Off their EP is this song, “Just Remember Have Fun”. This three piece (Charles, Erik, and Roger) represents the truest possible form of rock and roll – simple, honest and fucking brutal. Hans Condor has a sound that immediately draws your attention because it’s probably the closest you’ll ever get to seeing Iggy And The Stooges back in 1969 or MC5 in all those jumbled “old time” videos of “Kick Out The Jams”. This group of friends comes together on stage with the passion to play and melt your face in the way only good rock and roll can. “Just Remember Have Fun” is anthemic, sad, and also serves as a call to arms. I keep going back to the word “pure”, but it is quite possibly the bestdescription of Hans Condor. On this fateful night in June when I had the honor and privilege of seeing them there were 15 people in the crowd, but you would of thought it was Madison Square Garden. Never have I seen a band make the crowd part of a show more than I did on that Wednesday night. At one point, the singer/guitarist was on the floor, playing like it was his last show, and you know something? – they ALL played like it was their last show ever on the last night of their lives. A band can draw you in by their recorded music and maybe you like them enough to go see them perform. But, sometimes you find yourself in some town, on some random night, looking at a flyer next to the clubs bathroom wondering to yourself what the band advertised is all about. It just so happens that I was in the right place at the right time to catch this stellar, emotional, fun, triumphant, and exhilarating band called Hans Condor. It was the first time I’d ever stepped foot in Chattanooga and I am forever grateful that this band was there with me. -Brad Tilbe

Mick and Joel reconnected in the summer of 09 outside of Beep Beep Gallery at a Thy Mighty Contract show. (Nearly four years earlier they toured the UK and Ireland together in the hardcore punk band Black Cougar Shock Unit.) Later that night, Casey joined them at The EARL and, over many pints, a common affinity for Farfisa organ punk provided the spark to start a new band. Casey brought Luci along at the first rehearsal and he's been a fixture from the start. Thomas serendipitously broke a string while tuning Mick's piano and subsequent rock talks lead to an invite to join the group.

Ghost Party are the second act.



Atlanta's indie band Ghost Party formed in 2009 when Patrick Boggs (drums, loops), Henry Watts (bass) and Jonathan Whiteside (wurlitzer, synthesizers) began writing electronic dance music as an instrumental trio. After recording a handful of demos, the band's producer Bruce Butkovich (The Futura Bold, Brain Box) introduced them to Marium Khalid (vocals) whose vocal style was the perfect contrast to their music. Realizing they'd found the "right combination", the foursome started writing new songs together and Ghost Party was born.

Conjuring the spirit of classic 1980's electronic bands, Ghost Party crafts their own style of dark, percussive dance floor grooves weaved with sensual and playful vocals sung in English, Urdu, Hindi and French.

The Bears Of Blue River will be opening the show.



The Bears of Blue River are friends with day jobs who began gathering in the evenings to make silly noises in a dilapidated old apartment with wooden floors. Soon they found themselves playing folk diddies dressed up with some Bop about them. Their roots define them as Hoosiers but currently they are split between Chicago, Indianapolis, and Erie, Pennsylvania.
They are simple folks but with one request....

Five guys, buddies from ways back, get together to jam around some ideas songwriter Keith Bailey had. He had began writing about the what the band members were going through- divorce, personal struggles, being broke, in a word.. baggage. Through that honesty came chemistry. That chemistry turned five guys in a room to brothers united by passion. Passion to have a few hours a week to forget about dead end jobs, forget about debt and the day to day struggles, and at least have a break from heartache pain. Rehearsals reflected it. Shows reflected it. And.. attendance reflected it. We all got baggage, it’s in our hearts, beneath our skin, under our eyes, in our past, and will be with us until we part this world. Bailey learned to tap into his and write about it. They rubbed they’re nickels together and booked some time in an Athens studio to record 8 songs that are a look inside the lives of five guys who'll I'll bet are a bit like you & I. The albums called Better Left There, you can fill in the rest.

Jeffrey Butzer & The Bicycle Eaters are the openers.



Although raised by a piano teacher/church organist, Jeffrey is a self-taught musician/composer. He began playing drums at age nine, then picked up guitar and piano in his teen years and began writing instrumentals. Over the years, accordion, toy piano, electric piano, chord organs, glockenspiel, melodica, banjo and other noise makers have worked their way into his repertoire. His debut full-length album She Traded Her Leg (Lona Records, 2006) was received to great acclaim and supported by an international tour, including dates in Hong Kong, Paris, and across the United States. His follow up release, The Garden of Scissors (2009) continues in the imaginitive musical collagework of his prior release while expanding on new ground, including collaborations with Sanni Baumgaertner of Dancer vs. Politician. Jeffrey's penchant for tribute performances, in which he reinvents the legacies of some of his favorite influences in the manner of John Zorn, have to date included sets of material by Tom Waits, Vince Guaraldi, and an index of the music for the films of David Lynch. Other recent work includes Jeffrey's creative extension into film, including a score for C. Hefner's film Birdcatcher, which curried favor from legendary experimental filmmaker Guy Maddin, as well as a short film written by Jeffrey for his song Lucy 5's Egg, as interpreted by Italian video artist Marco Missano. Such wide ranging habits and capabilities remain continued demonstrations of not only Jeffrey Butzer's eclectic and explorative taste, but also his virtuosic capability and confidence in the creation of new sound.

CC lives and records in Fort Collins, CO. Their new album, "Hidden Lands," is NOW AVAILABLE via TwoSyllable records on CD and LP. Their debut album "In The Dream Of The Sea Life" struck the hearts and ears of internet music dorks, and they have been riding a residual wave of praise since. Their sound and their aesthetic is familiar and unique; they smoosh Pet Sounds harmonies through Animal Collective gurgle and approach the aftermath with naivety and wonder. Their music is both classic and totally modern. A remastered version of 'In the Dream of The Sea Life' was released on Irish label Indiecater Records on August 4, 2009. A CD version was released on October 26, 2009.

This Piano Plays Itself are performing second.



Adair Park recording artist This Piano Plays Itself are back for another jam session with their album As the House... An album with many sides, at times the sound is pure indie-rock, other times it aims more towards the pop sound. Creative Loafing describes their sound as "wide-scoped rock," whatever that means. Interestingly enough, a band that calls themselves This Piano Plays Itself doesn't actually feature a piano as the main attraction of the record!

A much more electric guitar-driven record, As the House..., like many rock albums, has been built with many elements from The Beatles later psychedelic LPs. In just about every of the eight songs, there's a little bit of Revolver. This is a good thing though, because even the weaker tracks are based on the best. Not to say This Piano Plays Itself are on Beatle Piano-player mode, these guys have a sound and feel of their own.

A semi-concept album, with titles such as "Who We Were," "When We Got There" and "Why We Stayed," the LP seems to want to detail a lot about this musical story. Vocally, musically and lyrically, the band seems very focused, but still there lies an element of fluidity in the compositions that set this record aside from other indie releases.

"Who We Were," the most refreshing and commercial track on the album, is pumped with energy and atmosphere. The moody track has a breath of pop, but isn't tied down to any of the genres, allowing it to show all the sides of the band. A bit dark, a bit dreamy, and it's definitely a bit possible this song will break the group through to mainstream success.

The band gets their most whimsical on "How We Left," a mix of rock, folk, and, of course, an accordion. Quite the charming song, even if sonically it has nothing to do with the rest of the album. No matter, what these guys are about is fun. And fun it is!

Other tracks like "Where We Lived" and "What Happened" range from sullen rock to explosive experimental. The record doesn't expand much from there, but with only eight songs on the LP, that's no insult.

The group has already garnered attention for their live shows, making Creative Loafing's pick for best live shows of the week, and with their sophomore album already creative a buzz online and off.
