She was born in Baton Rouge Louisiana, and developed musical interests ranging from several artists such as Bjork, Radiohead, Sade, and Terrence Trent D'arby, to The Winans, Betty Wright, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Bobby Womack, Aretha Franklin, Portishead and more.
