PFH Productions presents:

Rubblebucket is performing here at the Drunken Unicorn on Saturday, November 12th, 2011.

Quit hatin. These dudes are fun. Raucous party tunes. Sometimes feete shufflink , sometimes a touch of metaltastic. These guys like hard work and ball sweat. If you haven't started moving yet, then you are really really running out of excuses at this point. Save your excuses for when you need them, like the next day when you were supposed to meet this cute girl for coffee at eleven AM, which you make but then have to explain your godawful smell because you met her at bible study and want her to think you are something that you are not.
They have an album. That they recorded. Do that.

The Levee will be performing first.

The Levee was birthed out of a need to create. Brandon Funk came to the table with 14 songs with the intention of recording an EP using only local talent out of Atlanta for everything it takes to make an album. After enlisting the help of Kyle Schumacher and Michael Stallings to help record his solo project, the three knew that they had something unique. The EP turned into an LP, and the solo project turned into a band, and after recently solidifying their line up with the addition of Tucker Richmond, The Levee released their debut full length on May 20, 2011.

Youth Lagoon are coming to the Drunken Unicorn on Friday, November 11th

Ok Productions and Tight Bros presents:

Youth Lagoon here at the Drunken Unicorn on Friday, November 11th

"Youth Lagoon is the outlet of Boise, Idaho’s Trevor Powers' most personal hopes and fears, which he sets to dreamy yet tenacious lo-fi pop. While studying at Boise State University, Powers would go to the school’s music building and write songs between classes, and he recorded what would become his debut album over winter break in 2010 in his bedroom, a kitchen, and a four-car garage -- all settings that captured the intimate yet spacious atmosphere of his music. Powers posted his first Youth Lagoon song online in May 2011, sparking buzz that resulted in a two-album deal with Fat Possum Records. His first album, The Year of Hibernation, which reflects the wake of a breakup as well as Powers’ struggles with chronic anxiety, arrived that September." - Heather Phares / All Music

Young Magic will be the second performer.

Young Magic is the newest addition to the Carpark family. Hailing from the east coast of Australia and currently residing in New York, Young Magic is Isaac, a portable studio, and friends. These songs were recorded over the last six months in various places around the world: old spy bases near Berlin, empty rooms in Iceland, kids’ playgrounds in Melbourne, and no water flats in New York. These various locales are sampled and integrated into the fabric of Young Magic’s sound: the fluidity and songwriting of late 60’s psychedelic soul combined with modern-day beat making.

Premonition 13 (featuring WINO!) will be headlining here on Thursday, November 10th

PFH Productions presents:

Premonition 13 on Thursday, November 10th, 2011 here at The Drunken Unicorn

By now, the musical exploits of Scott “Wino” Weinrich are the stuff of legend. The Obsessed. Saint Vitus. Spirit Caravan. The Hidden Hand. Shrinebuilder. After releasing his solo debut in 2009, Wino went acoustic in early 2011 with Adrift, a gut-wrenchingly personal album written by a man who has survived a lifetime of gut-wrenching scenarios and lived to tell the tales.

Wino’s latest project sees him plugged back in—both to his amplifier and the full-band format. Enter PREMONITION 13, a musical entity that finds its genesis in jam sessions dating back two decades, when Wino first met fellow guitarist Jim “Sparky” Karow. “Jim and I have known each other for about 20 years,” Wino explains. “His wife was basically the first manager of the Obsessed. We played guitars together one day and then we had this really good conversation about magnetism. We realized we had a common love of Mesoamerican stuff and ancient cultures. So we’ve been jamming together for about 15 or 20 years—just me and him, two guitars, no drums or anything like that.”

And so what started as a series of informal jams out at Karow’s spread in the high California desert—a place once inhabited by Brave New World author and LSD enthusiast Aldous Huxley—eventually became songwriting sessions. After enlisting the talents of Ostinato drummer Matthew Clark and former Meatjack bassist Brian Daniloski, they began playing live under the moniker Premonition. But a subsequent Internet search turned up quite a few bands with that very name, so Wino proposed a numerical addendum. “13 is one of my favorite numbers,” he explains. “It’s actually a very positive number, but it’s been misconstrued quite a bit throughout history. Friday the 13th is considered bad luck in America, but that’s just another fear trip. It’s also considered good luck by some esoterically-minded folks because Friday the 13th was the day that Jacques de Molay, the last Grand Master of the Knights Templar, was burned at the stake. As he was being burned, he cursed the pope and the king, and they were both dead within a year.”

The Gates Of Slumber will be the second performer of the evening.

Bruising bashers THE GATES OF SLUMBER deftly defy death on their latest volcanic eruption, Hymns of Blood & Thunder. Remember that time when Conan strapped your head to the Anvil of Crom, and then those three bearded, burley bastards bludgeoned it to a bloody pulp using a giant hammer forged of Wrought-Iommi? Well, it’s that time again as Indianapolis heaviest sons return with their latest full length epic!

THE GATES OF SLUMBER encapsulates the metal experience for true believers. The Indianapolis doom metal trio formed in the late 1990’s with the goal of creating a band whose sound delivered an updated take on the member’s long list of favorite heavy metal greats. Weaned on Black Sabbath, St. Vitus, the melodic might of Iron Maiden and a host of classic bands from Thin Lizzy to Rainbow to Mercyful Fate, THE GATES OF SLUMBER draw deep from heavy metal's most powerful blood and deliver doom in its purest form.

An Isle Ate Her will be the second band performing on this bill and they will be celebrating the release of their new album "Phrenia" as well.

An Isle Ate Her was technically formed in July 2007 under a different name. For two and a half years Chaz, Collin, Matt and various other members over time played countless shows and embarked on a couple small scale tours, and at the same time were constantly building their skills. At the beginning of 2010, they wrote two songs which they knew were far beyond the ability of their former moniker's current music. That's when An Isle Ate Her actually started. AIAH took these songs and a few others and recorded Desiderium, the band's debut EP, and released it digitally in July of 2010. Since then, they met Eric, the band's first, full-time bassist, played dozens of shows with local and national touring acts alike, and wrote several new songs. These new songs were recorded over the summer with longtime friend Paul Hundeby of City of Ifa/City Pro Recording, and are set to release their debut full-length, Phrenia, on 11/07/11.

We used to be The Humboldt Trio. We're Hello Cobra cuz there's now four of us. Hello Cobra has been lucky enough to play along such acts as Animals As Leaders, Intronaut, Fuck the Facts, Zevious, and Unwed Sailor.

This is what a dude had to say about us:

"What’s that I hear? Asymmetrical time signatures, schizophrenic changes, angular melodies, jazzy interludes, some start-stop dynamics? It must be math rock: the genre that nobody wants to embrace and that few bands play well. Fortunately, Atlanta’s The Humboldt Trio excel at it, churning out serpentine songs that wind, slither and slide across a wide spectrum of sounds from jazz to prog to rock to metal. Unlike many of the band’s that attempt to congeal such a hodgepodge of musical styles, THT rarely come off as belabored; despite the myriad twists and turns, the music glides along naturally, seamless transitioning from one breakneck change to the next." Sonn Av Krusher are apparently making their FINAL appearance as the second act of the evening.

4.6 billion years ago, in the very beginning of earth's history, this planet was a giant, red hot, roiling, boiling sea of molten rock - a magma ocean. The heat had been generated by the repeated high speed collisions of much smaller bodies of space rocks that continually clumped together as they collided to form this planet. As the collisions tapered off the earth began to cool, forming a thin crust on its surface. As the cooling continued, water vapor began to escape and condense in the earth's early atmosphere. Clouds formed and storms raged, raining more and more water down on the primitive earth, cooling the surface further until it was flooded with water, forming the seas. Then, in the late summer of 2006, Sonn Av Krusher begain making music in a basement in Decatur, Georgia. The end.

Book Club will be performing at the Drunken Unicorn on Friday, November 4th

Performer Magazine and PFH Productions presents:

Book Club here at the Drunken Unicorn on Friday, November 4th, 2011.

Atlanta’s Book Club, a modern folk quintet founded by Robbie Horlick (of indie rockers Cassavetes), navigates today’s indie-folk sea with a rare honesty and classicism. The band honors the folk tradition, yet is unbound by it; every song is a fresh take on an old history. Anchored by the rich and sweetly-sung co-ed harmonies of Horlick and Leigh Anne Macquarrie, their arrangements range from that of a lone nylon guitar to songs thoughtfully embellished by cello, double bass, pedal steel, melodica, glockenspiel, saxophone, percussion, and more. Paying simultaneous homage to their traditional, and their modern, influences, Book Club draws easy comparisons to She & Him, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, and The Dutchess and Duke one minute, and Patsy Cline, The Carter Family, and Fleetwood Mac the next.

Ghost, the band’s first LP, released digitally and on limited edition vinyl - and handmade bookmark - on August 2, 2011, sounds like what might result if Lou and Nico were from the South and grew up on Mermaid Avenue, or if Springsteen’s Nebraska were recorded in Nashville. Or, if by some crazy wrinkle in time, Johnny and June grew up listening to Tom Petty and Iron & Wine. The songs on Ghost are pretty and sad, and there is a magic to their orchestration, at times sparse and delicate, at times embellished and blissful. Carefully arranged and tied together by a simple narrative element - with nary a wasted note - Book Club’s Ghost is at once modern and hauntingly timeless.

The Meeks Family will be performing first.

Brooks Meeks has a gift for wrapping sentiment in a few simple words that resonate far beyond the surface. Thirty One Years of Lullaby is Meeks' solo debut following the 2007 breakup of his dour Atlanta indie-rock outfit the Close. In every way, the record embraces the emotional letdown that goes along with the death of a band as well as a dream.

For as long as Meeks can remember, he banked on spending his life on the road. But as adulthood approached, success wasn't materializing for the Close so he abandoned the romantic notions of surviving solely on playing music. "Thirty One Years of Lullaby is my response to having put my whole life into music and then deciding not to tour anymore," he says. "It's the biggest sense of heartbreak that I have ever felt."

Despite the heavy remorse surrounding the album, Meeks has crafted a concise collection of somber, countrified numbers that ooze with symbolism and catharsis, and it's not all about depression. Jonathan Bradley (drums) and Johnny Kral (bass) join Meeks (guitar and vocals), who is at the top of his game with "Lips for Your Kissin'," a lighthearted duet with former bandmate Theresa Fedor. "Tower of Envy" is an ode to being overwhelmed by the enormity of life, while "Roots and Boots" muses on the realities of choosing home life and parenthood over the road, with a subtle tussle between pride and melancholy.

But defeat brings liberation for Meeks. "Most people feel this way when they graduate and enter the working world," he says. "Maybe they wanted to be an astronaut or the president of the United States, but suddenly find themselves doing phone sales in a cubicle. Instead of it happening when I was 21, it happened when I was 31. But with music I'm not making any compromises, and I'm not doing anything that I don't want to do." PFH Productions presents:

Purity Ring will be performing at The Drunken Unicorn on Wednesday, November 2nd

"When the debut single from Purity Ring – the new project from a member of New York electro-poppers Gobble Gobble – glides into view, all pinging beats and ghostly vocal samples, you immediately assume the next couple of minutes will consist of repeated pitched-down samples (a sound currently favoured by "blog bands"). So it's thrilling when Megan James's catchy vocal arrives after 30 seconds and Ungirthed instantly takes shape. It even has a dash of Auto-Tune at one point – a sly nod to the pop mainstream from a track that's catchy enough to nestle there itself." - The Guardian

"When you really dig independent music, whether as a fan or a blogger, there’s almost no better feeling than stumbling upon a promising young band that no one’s ever heard of… especially when that band is as talented and exciting as New Animal. Just two dudes from Atlanta, Kris Hermstad and Derek Burdette have labored over 15 tracks and 75 minutes of music in styles ranging from bedroom pop to exp. psych pop to anthemic kraut rock. The more the merrier — they don’t fit some simple category, no “RIYL” recommendations abound. Seemingly from the heart, or from the mind, or from the gut, but at least from somewhere within. They don’t cop someone else’s sound and fuzz the hell out of it to mask their theft. They aren’t hopping on the latest genre bandwagon. Listen for yourselves!" - I Guess I'm Floating

Featureless Ghost will be the first performer.

"Featureless Ghost has a vivid presence yet not much is known about the enigmatic duo from Terminal City.

Their songs are immediate enough to make you dance but wild enough to freak you out.

The King In Yellow will be starting the show.

The King in Yellow started as a result of a couple failed projects in early January of 2011. After the lifetime of guitarist Nathan DeMatteis’ and drummer Brandon Hellebuyck’s high school math-rock band came to an end, Nathan started writing music with guitarist Andrew Carmichael in a short-lived indie band with Nathan on bass guitar. The band quickly deteriorated from lack of interest from most members, seeing as the music was almost completely composed of riffs that Andrew had recycled from songs that he had written prior.

With two bands full of great musicians in shambles, Nathan and Andrew got together with an idea to start a new project, combining Andrew’s post-rock and jazz influences, Nathan’s math-rock and post-hardcore influences, and Brandon’s pop and punk influences. And so, the three started writing music casually until finding their first bassist, Travis Spencer and becoming The King in Yellow.

The Drums will be performing here on HALLOWEEN!

PFH Productions presents:

The Drums at the Drunken Unicorn on HALLOWEEN, 2011.

"An unlikely but undeniably catchy mix of Factory Records-style indie and ‘50s-inspired melodies, the Drums have roots that can be traced to the childhood friendship of Jonathan Pierce and Jacob Graham. After meeting at summer camp, the pair formed the electro-pop duo Goat Explosion while they were still in their teens. However, the band split and Pierce and Graham went on to other projects: Graham formed the indie pop group Horse Shoes, who released an EP on Shelflife in 2009. Meanwhile, Pierce and another friend, Adam Kessler, founded the new wave-inspired band Elkland, who were signed to Columbia Records and issued the album Golden in 2005. That year, Pierce left the band (which broke up in 2006) and took a hiatus from making music. In 2008, Graham and Pierce reconnected and began writing songs together, trading the electronic direction of their earlier collaboration for a guitar-based approach. Early the following year, Pierce and Graham moved from central Florida to New York City, where Kessler became their second guitarist. With the addition of drummer Connor Hanwick, formerly of Cape of No Hope, the Drums’ lineup was complete, and by that summer, the band’s shows were gaining buzz. Moshi Moshi released the Drums’ singles "Let’s Go Surfing" and "I Felt Stupid," and their debut EP, Summertime!, arrived late in 2009. The singles "Best Friend" and "Forever and Ever Amen" preceded the band's self-titled first album, which Moshi Moshi released in the U.K. in spring 2010; it arrived in the States that autumn. During their first U.S. tour, Kessler left the group; friend of the band Tom Haslow played guitar for the rest of those dates. The Drums commenced writing and recording as a trio, releasing their first single with this lineup, "The New World," in April 2011. Recruiting Violens' Chris Stein and Myles Matheny as members of their touring act, the band released the darker, keyboard-heavy Portamento that September." - Heather Phares / All Music

Black Tusk are celebrating the release of "Set The Dial" here on Saturday, October 29th

Chunklet, Performer Magazine and PFH Productions presents:

Black Tusk's "Set The Dial" album release show here at the Drunken Unicorn on Saturday, October 29th.

"Emerging onto the metal scene from Savannah, GA in 2005, Black Tusk specialize in a brand of sludgy metal they call "swamp metal." The band, consisting of members Andrew (guitar/vocals), Athon (bass/vocals), and James (drums/vocals), combines the drive of fellow Savannah residents Baroness with the thick and murky stoner sludge of High on Fire. In 2005 the band self-released its first demo, Demos and the Demons, as well as the album When Kingdoms Fall, which was released on Wrecked Signal. Two years later they self-released another album, The Fallen Kingdom, and kept their prolific release schedule going the following year with Passage Through Purgatory, released on Hyperrealist Records. Taking what for them is a long break from recording, Black Tusk gained attention through tours with bands like Weedeater, Pentagram, and Eyehategod. The band eventually signed on to Relapse, and in 2010 released its first album through the label, Taste the Sin, featuring cover art from Baroness singer John Baizley." - Gregory Heaney / All Music

Coliseum will be the third performer of the evening.

"Louisville, KY's Coliseum was founded in November of 2003 by singer/guitarist Ryan Patterson, who named the band after his favorite brand of Sunn amplifiers and, in typical hardcore D.I.Y. fashion, entered the studio less than six months later with bandmates Keith Bryant (bass) and Matt Jaha (drums), to record a self-titled debut album for Level Plane Records. Extensive touring followed with the likes of Hot Cross, Cursed, and Breather Resist, as well as a split 7" with fellow Louisville natives Lords and their own Goddamage EP -- all before the end of 2004, with new bassist Mike Pascal making his entry in time for the latter. Then it was time for more road work (this time with metallic-leaning acts like Municipal Waste, Kylesa, and Buried Inside) and split singles, which packed Coliseum's schedule throughout 2005, until new drummer Chris Maggio was installed early the next year -- just in time for a European tour with Lords and a new recording contract with Relapse Records. And, after spending the second half of 2006 composing new material amid occasional touring, Coliseum entered Salem, MA's God City Studios, for the recording of their belated sophomore CD, No Salvation, released by Relapse in the fall of 2007." - Eduardo Rivadavia / All Music

Regents will be performing second.

Regents, whose members hail from a 200 mile stretch of i95, are veterans of some of the most influential hardcore bands of the 90’s including Maximillian Colby, Sleepytime Trio, Frodus, TheExploder, Men’s Recovery Project, Battery, and Combat Wounded Veteran. Band mates David NeSmith, Drew Ringo, Dan Evans and Jason Hamacher have come together to form a brutal and heavily charged punk band.

Regents formed in the summer of 2007 when NeSmith and Hamacher were playing as a keytar & drum duo called Regions. The following year Ringo and Evans moved back to the east coast and both separately approached David about playing music. NeSmith called a meeting and the three quickly realized their mutual goals. A call to Hamacher turned Regions from a duo into a quartet. A misunderstanding on Ringo’s part changed the band name from Regions to Regents and the rest is history.

The Romans will be here at the Drunken Unicorn on Friday, October 28th

The Romans are headlining the Drunken Unicorn on Friday, October 28th, 2011.

The Romans are a four piece indie rock band hailing from Atlanta GA. Their music combines elements of dark new wave, 80's pop, and alternative music. Lush atmospheric soundscapes engulf haunted plaintive vocals all while serving as a backdrop for extremely philosophical lyrics dealing with loss, self realization, melancholy, brokeness and infinite joy. This ability to move effortlessly from dark to light and loud to soft within a set or on an album is what sets them apart from other bands within their genre.

The band initially began as a three piece featuring Aaron Whitehouse on bass and vocals, Ryan Clevenger on drums, and Zevi on guitar. In a span of about 3 months, they put together a demo which grabbed the attention of Atlanta based producer John Rosser who offered to produce their debut EP. As a result, the EP SAMO was made. Through this successful collaboration of producing/writing with the band, Rosser was invited to join officially, and he accepted the offer. They have been welcomed into the Atlanta music scene with positive reviews. Recently they have received an offer to record a full length album with Dean Roland (Collective Soul) and Atlanta based producer Ryan Potesta, which is scheduled to commence in August 2011...

Siberia My Sweet is performing second.

Forging a harmonious blend of opposites, Siberia My Sweet is an Atlanta based group exemplifying the sound of post-punk and new wave. Jonathan Williams at Creative Loafing Atlanta pegs the band as a ‘singer/songwriter-ish, electro rock, all-girl trio.’

By mixing keyboard ambiance with indie rock guitars, a sound is created that hops the cusp of major and minor, dance and drone. A strong 80s’ influence has brought Siberia My Sweet comparisons to bands like Blondie and Missing Persons. They take historic cues from New Order and Tears for Fears, and modern ones from groups like The Organ, CSS and Interpol.

Formed by frontwoman Kelly Andrews in the fall of 2005, Siberia My Sweet saw the addition of Luci Harrell (guitar) in 2006 and Erin Sellers (keys) in 2008. In 2010 Alec Yeager entered the live show, adding acoustic drums to the mix.

Tigerwink presents:

HERE COME THE ACID MODS featuring

Ursula 1000 at the Drunken Unicorn, on Thursday, October 27th, 2011

ESL Music’s URSULA 1000 is the alter ego of Brooklyn, New York based producer/DJ/multi-instrumentalist Alex Gimeno. His albums and mix sessions have taken on a broad scope of retro tinged spy grooves, bumping latin disco funk, hints of post punk, electro, go go, sleazy glam rock…And he never stops evolving.

You can hear it in his remixes for the likes of Quincy Jones, Felix Da Housecat, The Faint, Fort Knox Five to a slew of television remodels for themes to Sesame Street, The Powerpuff Girls, The Incredibles and Yo Gabba Gabba. Scenes for Sex And The City, Grey’s Anatomy and How I Met Your Mother popped even more with a helping of a little Ursula as have campaigns for AT&T, Samsung, Adidas and Grand Marnier.

Black Dominoes will be spinning as well.

Black Dominoes is a DJ. He's lived in Atlanta, GA since he was five. He's getting good at sleeping on airplanes and on couches after gigs. He has probably remixed your favorite indie-rock band. He buys worthless old collections of disco and acid house records from washed-up old DJs.

Wigdan Giddy is your host for the evening.

I'm a moon-faced nightcrawler who likes to paint, DJ, write, drink and dress. I love road trips (since modern culture has smelted the romance from air travel) and I'm a bit of a thrift hound. I will dress up for the opening of a window. This is a fact.

Hull is performing at the Drunken Unicorn on Wednesday, October 26th

Chunklet presents:

Hull at the Drunken Unicorn on Wednesday, October 26th, 2011.

HULL materializes as a massive entity storming stages and immersing their audiences in a blanket of grandiose down-tuned compositions. A shifting fault line of decibel heavy harmony, this collective force converges in a collision of thrash, doom, classic rock, and formal orchestral works. HULL commands their listeners through each riff with incredible precision, as a seafarer guides vessels through ominous waters. Submerged in cosmic soundscapes, HULL challenges the mind with flowing, off-time fugues and powerful, dynamic movements. Brace yourself for an onslaught of eruptive force as a new world of music is formed in the deafening clap of thunder that is HULL.

The Fucking Wrath are performing second.

The Fucking Wrath was conceived in Montalvo, California by three long-time friends who worked in the same record store and lived on the same street. While the members had each been playing in dedicated bands for more than ten years, they initially formed T.F.W. as a result of jamming for fun after work. Since their first gig in November of 2005, they have gone on to play a continual string of shows that hasen't stopped yet. The band recorded their first album, "Season Of Evil", during the week of 6/06/06. In true DIY fashion the band payed for the recording themselves. After numerous shows playing with a ride range of bands from Tragedy to Blue Cheer & High On Fire to the Adolescents their mix of punk/stoner metal/rock n roll caught the attention of Goodfellow & Challenge The Throne Records who released "Seasons..." on CD & LP respectivly in August of 2007. With rave reviews from print and online zines, the group embarked on two nation-wide tours and several west coast ventures. The Fucking Wrath Recently signed with the legendary Tee Pee Records and realeased their debut E.P. "Terra Fire" in Oct of 2010 and set out on a west coast tour with Label mates Ancestors. They are now writing for their Next fulll length LP titles "Valley of the Serpent Soul" shcedualed to come out Sept/Oct of 2011. The Fucking Wrath now averages close to 100 shows per year with no sign of slowing down. They have a track included on the Nardcore Compilation: 30 Years Later LP on Burning Tree Records. In 2009, Brent Woodward joined the group, adding a second guitar to the mix. Fueled by significant doses of THC, their songs are simultaneously heavy and fast, while cleverly infused with slower, droned-down riffs and sudden timing changes. The band's sound can be described as an amalgamation of groups such as Discharge, Black Flag, The Melvins and Kill 'em All-era Metallica. The Fucking Wrath consists of Craig Kasamis: guitar/guttural onslaught, Nick Minasian: bass/visceral ravaging, Brent Woodward: guitar/looking good, and John Crerar: really heavy drums.

Lazer/Wulf are starting the show.

"Lazer/Wulf if a band that seems to continually impress, and it was easily one of the most talked about bands of Saturday night's festival line-up. With a sound slightly outside the familiar Athens indie rock circle and shin-deep into the realm of metal, this trio (now based mostly in Atlanta) has been wowing audiences off and on since their formation in 2005, and Saturday night's performance was no different. To say they were on point is an understatement—the band functioned as one cohesive entity, blasting through complex riffs and melting the faces off anyone within earshot.

Caledonia has seen its share of packed-out shows, and Friday night's drawing may have nearly broken fire code with audience members in lines 30 deep and some people barely inside the door. It was as if the high-speed funk-rock thrash had literally enraptured the entire audience and pulled each individual forward on an invisible string. With each song, the intensity grew and even the most jaded and pretentious of audience members could not help but drop their jaws, if only momentarily.

The show ended abruptly —L/W played their last note and instantly began packing up as the house lights turned on and people, waking from their trance, began to filter outside. The calm demeanor of the club after the set was one of both astonishment and complete satisfaction. The brief silence following the set was an appropriate response to the performance. When the universe aligns and a band pulls off that kind of flawless and crisp congruity, there are really no words." - Carrie Dagenhard / Flagpole

Hail The Titans are performing second.

“What’s the name of that band?” was the question of the night. It was Halloween 2010, and Wes Andrews, Trey Baldwin, Josh Carples and Adam Davila had just finished their first performance of a new musical endeavor that encompassed elements of experimental, ambient, progressive noise rock.

Shortly after performing that show with no band name, the members chose “Hail the Titans” to identify themselves.

At first, some expressed surprise or even confusion that the band is instrumental, especially considering the fact that each member has been a vocalist in other bands and solo projects, but the “where’s the singer?” question generally fades after attending a live performance and experiencing the energy level of a show.

The instrumental aspect generally earns comparisons, at least to a degree, to bands such as Explosions in the Sky, Pelican or even much of Mogwai’s song catalog, but the song structures and progressive elements seem to enter the Mars Volta, sans their vocalist of course, into the comparison mix.

Eryn Woods will be headlining on Friday, October 21st

PFH Productions presents:

Eryn Woods here at The Drunken Unicorn on Friday, October 21st.

“Holl.E.Woods:” The unapologetic underbelly of a city, decorated by society’s outcasts, led by the red-headed mohawk queen, Eryn Woods and the namesake of her latest album.

Recently featured on MTV’s The Jersey Shore,VH1’s Beverly Hills Fabulous and VH1’s Mob Wives. Eryn Woods is a 21 year old Louisiana native out to redefine the image of the “pop princess.” The black swan of the bubble gum world, Eryn has been touring the nation and rallying her “kupcake” army in an effort to change the status quo. “Everything isn’t glitter and glam, even with all the fame,” notes Woods. “It’s about finding yourself and maturing, and owning the blood, sweat, and tears, it takes to get there.”

Eryn’s career gained momentum in 2005 after reaching the semi-finals of Gospel Dream, a nationally televised solo vocal competition, where she caught the eye of Grammy nominated singer Kelly Price. Her musical pedigree includes five years of vocal training and over 12 years of combined musical study.

“Hollywood” conjures up the images of “making it,” and this is at the core of Holl.E.Woods. The entire album is centered around the dichotomy of what the general public deems as “normal” and what is “real,” and celebrates the individuality of people.

Eddy will be performing second.

I never read long bios I'm way to A.D.D to read through all that copy so I will keep this short ;)

I'm eddy and I am a 4′11″ish journal collecting cupcake baker with an affinity for the scratching noises on old records who is more than a little unclear on exactly what my natural hair color is and a singer/songwriter/procrastinator extraordinaire who definitely wasn’t a screamer for a hardcore metal band when I was 15. Nope, I definitely was not..
