Anything but ordinary, young rapper and producer Nic Astore has landed on the music scene to make some noise. Triz is starting the show.

I love composing and performing original songs. Along with that though, I also accept responsibility as a vessel and purveyor of various other pieces of great music I've found over the years that I feel others wouldn't hear on their own. I also love an epic party and sometimes the only way to do the job right is to do it yourself!

"PILGRIM is a massive slab of slow-burning, sludgy doom metal. This is true doom metal, not the hybrid bile that so many bands are passing off as doom these days. The monster riffs will bludgeon you senseless and shake you to the core, but you'll keep coming back from more, willingly and repeatedly."

MTN ISL are starting the show.

Mike, Tony, and Matt got together in 2012 with the intention to create something loud, fast, and weird. They spent a year experimenting with space.punk tunes and honing their musical chops, establishing themselves in the Atlanta scene and earning a slot on the Blood Drunk Records roster along the way.

Doesin are the second performing of the evening.

On a dark and stormy night in October 2012, three young men from Atlanta got together to play some music. After several hours of fruitless jamming, the exhausted trio fell into a deep sleep and all dreamed the same curious dream. In this dream, they were visited by a wizard named Doesin, who told them that "musician" was secretly another word for "magician", and that the songs they heard in their sleep were the beat to which the universe itself pulsed. When they awoke, they noticed that if they listened carefully, the songs they heard in their dream were still playing softly in the back of their heads! The trio promptly named themselves after the wizard and set out to restore peace, love and funkiness to the universe. This is that band, and these are those songs.

Miniature Tigers are performing before Bear Hands.

The sound is important but nothing is more important than the feeling of the sound. When Charlie Brand (vocals, guitar) was writing the newest Miniature Tigers record, he looked to the sum of his musical influences for inspiration. “I wanted to make something like Weezer’s Blue Album—not exactly the album, but the feeling of listening to that album at age whatever. Something with that feeling that could connect with people.” That’s how the band had started, after all: When he and founding member Rick Schaier (keys) connected over Myspace in the mid-’00s through their love of the same bands. After a few albums, they brought on Algernon Quashie (guitar) and Brandon Lee (bass) to complete the band.

Total Slacker are performing first.

Total Slacker has a thing for Olive Garden. It’s not just a passing interest or something—next time you talk to Tucker Rountree, their towheaded, lanky frontman, ask him about never-ending pasta bowls and Zuppa Toscana and unlimited breadsticks. He’ll tell you about his ongoing attempt to throw a rock ‘n’ roll show at a Queens Olive Garden, which culminated in a series of phone calls made to corporate centers, demanding answers to questions like: Do you understand the sociological effect that Olive Garden has had on Western culture since the 80s? What are the conceptual underpinnings behind breadsticks?

is presenting:

A MARDI GRAS party featuring

Blair Crimmins & The Hookers here at the Drunken Unicorn on Saturday, March 1st, 2014.

Best Songwriter 2013 ”Crimmins has never been more refined than on this year’s Sing-A-Longs CD. If he caters to any genre, it’s one that’s entirely his own, and that’s something a lot of guys with pens and guitars either don’t know how to do, or don’t have the guts to do.” – Creative Loafing

Count M'Butu & The Mar-Tans are starting the party.

While in Africa, the Count not only learned more about playing the drums but he also learned the art of drum making. It was there that he became enthralled with the wide array of percussion instruments. And the drum became his instrument of choice. He also performed in various African ballets, which tell the history of Africa through song and dance.

The Mar-Tans are a group of seasoned pros. The band was founded by keyboardist/singer Matt Wauchope, Terrence Prather on congas, and Melvin Zachery on bass. They were the long time rhythm section of Sean Costello.

Family & Friends - Saturday, February 22nd, 2014

Family & Friends are appearing here at The Drunken Unicorn on Saturday, February 22nd, 2014.

As these things so often do, Family And Friends began as a lowly seedling of inspiration. “Good music, good people.” A stalk gave yield to branches. One became six, a collective of musicians by trade, lovers by spirit. Inspired by a life worth living, the Fam and Pals remained rooted with three ambitions in heart, mind, and soul: the people, the music, the memories. The reflection represented by blend of earnest folk rock and a communal spirit pouring a collective heart into something bigger than itself. An intangible force of an unfaltering love worth giving away. A Family And Friend tree ever-growing, ever-lasting.

Programs are performing before the Family & Friends.

"Athens synth-pop sensation Programs seems to have blown up out of relatively nowhere over the past few months. The duo, composed of Robby Casso and Dillon McCabe, plays a deliriously attractive mixture of glossy, 1980s-style UK pop and 21st Century indie dance music. Sure, the ‘80s tag might seem a little obvious and lazy—and it’s not one I’m completely married to, either—but damn if these stylish bros' cover art doesn't look more like Wham! than anything else in recent history." -Gordon Lamb (Flagpole Magazine)

Baby Baby are starting the party.

In the summer of 2009, the Greek Gods of Georgia held a secret meeting to discuss efforts to improve the state of the current music scene. Luckily, Fontez and Grant we're on Adventure Time that day and eavesdropped on the conversation. "We will save you!" they said with heartfelt jubilation. "But how? You are from the suburbs" responded the Gods. "Two words," said Fontez. "Fucking Fun Rock." And so it was written. Since B-Day bombed nearly five years ago, the group expanded to include Colin 'cow cow' Boddy, Kyle 'wabadaba' Dobbs and Ryan 'real talk' Burruss.

Crawl began Spring 2012 with a core trio of which have been past members of FULCI, Social Infestation, Molehill, Hog Mountin & Sons of God! Their initial rumblings comprised of immense detuned riffing and sociopathic chants alongside bulldozing sub frequencies and Neanderthal tar-pit beats, bringing together the drunken groove of classic southern rock and prime Sabbathian riffage with the bowel churning devastation of contemporary Doom Metal and sludge rock. Crawl swings a heavy hammer as they deliver crushing Deep South destructo-sludge.
