Behind the wall of towering drums, glassy guitars, and the forceful tide of synthesizers, hide soft-spoken melodies, tender harmonies, and understated musings on the subtle, yet visceral moments in life.

"M. Geddes Gengras offers moody, beat-driven electronic music-- a dark, reflective take on modern techno that stretches back to 1970s Euro synth explorations and '80s sci-fi soundtracks." - Pitchfork

That band is New Orleans, The Winter Sounds. Fun. Energetic. Anthemic. All words to describe The Winter Sounds and their catchy-as-hell sonic gems. Started in Athens, GA by sole-TWS constant, Patrick Keenan, the band has morphed into a juggernaut touring machine with pop chops that turn heads and get feet tapping.
The Ghosts Project here at The Drunken Unicorn on Wednesday, April 24th, 2013.
Formed in 2006, The Ghosts Project is comprised of Paul Mercer on violin and Davis Petterson on percussion. The band, which is located in Atlanta, features an ever changing lineup of special guest musicians from all over the country.
Jaggery will be performing before The Ghosts Project.
“Jaggery audiences go silent and still like people appreciating raw, scary, beautiful wildlife.” That observation was made by web magazine, Cambridge Day, in reaction to the Boston-based five-piece, who work the dark edge of a genre-defying musical style (darkwave jazz? ethereal avant-rock? chamber art-pop?)
