Occupy Our Homes Benefit feat. Young Dirty Bastard - Saturday, April 12th, 2014

Saturday, April 12th will be a benefit for
Occupy Our Homes Atlanta here at The Drunken Unicorn.

Occupy Our Homes Atlanta is a grassroots, member-led organization that seeks to build power in Metro Atlanta neighborhoods highly impacted by the housing crisis. By mobilizing communities around foreclosure, eviction, tenant rights, and public land rights — with an emphasis on leadership development and fostering a culture of resistance through non-violent direct action — we strive to transform our city’s approach to housing. We believe that housing is a human right regardless of race, national or ethnic origin, economic background, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identification, or immigration status.

The performers will be:

Baby Baby "Big Boy Baller Club" album release show - Saturday, April 5th, 2014

and are presenting:

Baby Baby's "Big Boy Baller Club" album release show here at The Drunken Unicorn on Saturday, April 5th, 2014.

What with Mike D busy getting photographed by the New York Times in his well-appointed Brooklyn town house, someone had to pick up the "Fight For Your Right (to Party)" mantle, or watch the whole enterprise given over to self-seriousness and poise. Enter Atlanta quintet Baby Baby, the perfect men for the job. Channeling the Beastie Boy's silly irreverence and party-rockin' spirit, Baby Baby blend pop/punk songwriting with a hip-hop swagger and an emphasis on the live experience, which is something akin to the party scene in a teen movie, only everyone there can drink, and the party's actually fun.

Biters are turning up the party before Baby Baby.

"In this digital age of disposable razors, disposable relationships and disposable music, anything authentic seems more precious than ever. Discovering the indigo denim of an old Levi's jacket or an arrowhead in your backyard are some of the joys untold. Biters are a rock and roll band hailing from Hatecity and upon first listen you know they are the real deal." - Nico Constantine
