Girls On Film are performing before Attention System.
Hailing from the capitol of Florida, GIRLS ON FILM are a female duo whose music is one part lipstick synth-pop and one part icy-cold new wave. Their fashion fueled combination of high-energy stage antics and “Glamwave” - their signature sound - have earned the band a reputation as one of the hottest new wave acts out of the Southeast.
Sharing a love for sounds ranging the entire music spectrum, Athens, Georgia-based guitarist/vocalist Clem Adams (ex-Peregrine) and drummer Jason “Mohawk” Richardson (ex-Dumps) formed Savagist in 2009.
"Genuinely shocking or tasteless, campy fun? It was sometimes hard to tell which way the Misfits wanted to be taken, and the immense cult following that has grown up in the years after their actual existence (1977-1983) seems divided in its own assessment. It certainly wasn't the Misfits' musicianship -- which was as crude as the recording quality of most of their oeuvre -- that endeared them to so many, although Glenn Danzig possessed one of the most distinctive and tuneful bellows in hardcore punk. Rather, it was Danzig's penchant for catchy, anthemic melodies, often delivered at warp speed, and his lyrical obsession with grade-B horror films and splatter imagery that helped the Misfits build a rabid posthumous following." - Steve Huey / All Music
"The Left Field Experiment" on Thursday, October 11th here at The Drunken Unicorn featuring:
Oh No who will be headlining.
It was around the age of 11 when making beats won out over video games to become Oh No’s most obsessive pastime. Over the years, as the Cali-bred b-boy honed his skills of rhyming and producing, it became obvious that – like his brother Madlib (iconic hip-hop maestro), his father Otis Jackson (cult ’70s soul singer) and his uncle Jon Faddis (renowned jazz trumpeter) – Oh No would go on to pursue the family business of music.
The Difference Machine will be performing before Oh No.
all your lightning waits inside you
travel it along your spine
seven stars receive your visit
seven seals remain divine
seven churchs filled with spirit
treasure from the angels mind

"What more can be said of giddy pop music? You will either be charmed or you won't. Like it or not, you are almost guaranteed to get one of their many hooks woven into some hidden synapse deep inside your brain. And contrary to so many players of rock and roll these days, those crooked smiles reveal much about the joy in their performance." - Shane Morgensson

Music blog, I Guess I’m Floating, spotlighted Headlights saying, “Night Moves, a harmonious three-piece from Minnesota, craft tracks that contain splices of electro/glam rock interspersed with soulful shreds of an Americana vibe. When was the last time you heard harmonica and synth go together so well? I’m not sure that I ever have.”

Often compared to sonic pioneers of the 90s and 00s, Explosions In Sky, My Bloody Valentine, Pedro The Lion, and Sigur Rós, Easter Island makes no compromise to explore unknown sonic territory, embodying the “feeling that you’d stumbled onto something great...knowing that you had a potential game changer in your hands” - Pop Matters

Though Banks has composed music of his own since 2008, he started to compile songs that can be performed either by himself, or minimal support in May of 2012. Pulling influences from styles such as electronic, indie pop, hip hop, and experimental/psychedelic, Skybison seeks to create sounds in hope of dodging any genre preconceptions, limiting the possibilites for a style all over the musical spectrum.
Whiskey Rocks will be performing before Shook Foil.
"Whiskey Rocks"; he's NOT a rapper. I am a lyricist who raps. It's all about the lyrical value-on top of some sick beats that will hopefully promote you to actually LISTEN to what's said.

Nigredo here at The Drunken Unicorn on Saturday, September 22nd, 2012.
"Last decade's waves of post-rock held Mogwai and Godspeed sacred and referenced Radiohead-style shimmer and clarity. It may not be fair, then, to call a recent crop of bands, including Atlanta's Nigredo, by that title. In their pantheon are dark, moody bands like Isis. Yes, the material is still epic with heavy emotional overtones, but the focus on triumph is gone. Nigredo tends toward a balance of punishing, mid-tempo crunch and disquieting ambience. Their ghostly guitar phrases build to plaintive howls, and they command vivid imagery without resorting to vocals." — Corbie Hill /Indyweek.com
