Charges headline the Drunken Unicorn on Saturday, December 11th

Charges are headlining the Drunken Unicorn on Saturday, December 11th, 2010.

Charges — Mick Winters (ex-Early Modern Witch Trials), Joel Perdue (40 Hells), Casey Yarbrough (Authors Apology), Luciano Giarrano (Authors Apology, Jeffrey Butzer), and Tommy McDowell — augment the standard bass/guitar/drums instrumentation with a fuzzed-out Farfisa organ and grainy Rhodes electric piano to deliver brash, glam-influenced punk rock sure to please fans of the Murder City Devils, The Damned, Roxy Music, Slade, and Deep Purple alike.

The Young from Austin, Texas are performing second.

"The debut full-length from this Austin rock four-piece exchanges the raucous pop-punk of the band’s earliest days for something all their own. These are tightly wound missives shot directly into the dirt and allowed to slump, revealing a brace of heartbroken, doggedly determined punk rock ballads, jagged and rough, crying into their beers at the end of the bar. Songs this specific in mood and motive, with parts as anthemic and righteous, haven’t been heard since GBV hung it up. Hell, they sound like the Mice if they were on Factory; proud, shaken anthems that stay with you in the dark." - Mexican Summer
