We Are Country Mice are playing on Friday, August 20th

We Are Country Mice are headlining the Drunken Unicorn on Friday, August 20th.

These four boys from Kansas, Wisconsin and Minnesota met in a Brooklyn warehouse in early 2009 to form We Are Country Mice. Since, they have released a couple of top-selling 7”s and caught some attention from the blogosphere with their 2009 CMJ performances. “In Wilco terms, We Are Country Mice make music that sounds like Being There mashed up with a little Yankee Hotel Foxtrot” - Pitchfork. RIYL - Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Wilco, Sonic Youth, Modest Mouse.

We Are Country Mice is comprised of Jason Rueger (vocals, guitar), Ben Bullington (vocals, guitar), Kurt Kuehn (drums) and Josh Kothe-Levie (bass).

We Are Contry Mice are about to release a third 7” on Mexican Summer and are currently recording a full-length album to be released in 2010.

Southeast Forge & Foundry are performing second.

Come out to see Atlanta's Southeast Forge & Foundry entertain you with their fun country / indie tunes.

Mice In Cars are opening.

Taking cues from the loudest and quietest records in our collections, Mice in Cars creates a pummeling sonic attack of brute force, melody and humor both joyous and sinister.

Through many bloody, ear-ringing tribulations have we whittled ourselves down to the trio we are now. Two years worth of playing seedy dives has proven Mice in Cars to be a gleefully rambunctious live act who pine for the days when neither band nor audience ever stood still.
