Currently based in Atlanta, GA, Garcia heads the seminal Nophi Recordings label, as well as the annual Nophest Summer Music Festival. He composes and tours both solo and with his trio and plays drums with side project, Swank Sinatra.

In Atlanta, 2006, after the little known punk band A las Barricadas departed, drummer Cullen "Slim" Brown began learning old-time and labor folk songs using his accordion, harmonica, and guitar as accompaniment, and the following year started his folk music career by opening local punk house shows around town. Slim named the project "I Want Whisky" after the Industrial Workers of the World, and his preference for a good scotch. As it happened, the I.W.W. was the organiztion of many folk-singers like Joe Hill, T-Bone Slim, and Harry McLintock ("Big Rock Candy Mountain").
