The Dirty Boy Social Club presents Richelle L. Brown on Thursday, June 16th

The Dirty Boy Social Club presents:

Richelle L. Brown aka Cornbread at the Drunken Unicorn on Thursday, June 16th, 2011.

Bringing back true moxie and funk to the music sphere. Richelle L. Brown is that missing energy. Crowned the new queen of Electro Funk Dance Music, a passionate singer, songwriter and performer birthed from that gritty red clay and southern spunk of what we innately call Georgia. Richelle L. Brown joins the movement of retro songstresses that are invading the hyperspace experience. Similar to the Acid Jazz wave of the 90’s that garnered such artist as Nadea Davenport; Richelle L. Brown is that new funk.

Prema LaNay is performing third.

"You cannot make artists like Prema LaNay. They just are."

Jimmy Iovine, Co-founder of Interscope Records

From the small town outside of Atlanta, Georgia to an international tour spanning Europe and Japan, Prema LaNay is a star on the rise.

The simple gift of a flute from her Grandfather sparked Prema's love of music as a young child. From music classes to static-filled reggae jams hard to find on southern town radio years ago, a new gumbo of a genre was growing within a young girl of the Peach State.

"In order to start telling the world everything, I had to 1st not be ashamed of anything. Everything I've been through, I got through. I had to embrace this Prema lady and become her biggest fan in order to gain even one outside supporter." ~~Prema LaNay

In the world of Hip Hop, Atlanta based Boog Brown spreads her “Dope Girl Magic” like her life depends on it and returns us to the roots of a genre that has literally changed the world.

Currently based in Atlanta, Detroit native Brown is not only an emcee, poet and publisher; but she describes herself as a “lover, fighter and artist.” This is reflected in her personal style, lyrical approach and unique perspective.

Brown describes HipHop as “returning to its origins” and in ten years sees herself “as a well respected, established artist, writing and recording stateside and abroad.” She doesn’t simply eat, breathe and live HipHop; she reflects its history and takes it where it needs to be. To know Boog Brown is to understand Hip Hop. To experience her is to live it.
