Secret Cities perform at the Drunken Unicorn on Wednesday, June 23rd

Secret Cities are performing at the Drunken Unicorn on Wednesday, June 23rd

"The percussive chamber-pop on Pink Graffiti hits hard and rarely lets up during its breathless 41-minute runtime... 86%"
-Filter Magazine

"...intimate and immediately likable...It gets better and better the more you listen to it."
-Stereogum

"This is a debut with some legs that could climb stairs two at a time. It's got a stride that could get to the top of the mountain... the church of Brian Wilson will gush over the textural details."
-Impose Magazine

"[B]and camp compadres MJ Parker and Charlie Gokey, alongside drummer Alex Abnos, have created an experimental and wildly inventive sound... Pink Graffiti is one of those intriguing listens that begs to be repeated."
-SLUG Magazine

"As captured on this forty-minute collection, the group's pop sounds raw, kaleidoscopic, and elemental yet is often powerfully affecting too."
-Textura

"Fucking awesome... Everybody should love it. I don’t know what else to tell you. Listen to it, for God’s sake."
-Delusions of Adequacy

"Secret Cities establish themselves with this album as something quite different but phenomenally good... innovative and bold... a truly fantastic album, which has earned a permanent place on my iPod...4.5/5 stars"
-Battlemouth

Imagination Head are performing second.

"Imagination Head live performances consist of a wealth of entertainment: impromptu product placement commercials, TV heads, cakewalks, even a funhouse (complete with dream research, curtain mazes, creepy clowns, a stenographer, glass eaters, and crude oil drinking). Needless to say, the band lives to entertain their audience." -Adam Herrington, Mule Magazine, Chicago

Formed in Memphis, TN in 2004 (J.R. and Erin Wicker) moved to Atlanta, GA in 2007 and gathered up two more fine musicians (Vince Gray and Dave Gunter). Imagination Head LOVES to perform. They are currently working on their second album.

Their fist album, The Stale and Sparkly Air, was released in August of 2006.

"the group's debut disc puts the focus squarely on Wicker's songs-rambling, hilarious, acerbic gems that owe debts to everyone from Dylan to Conor Oberst but that mark Wicker as one of the most original writing voices in town"

Lacuna M are the openers.

Lacuna M are the band that was formerly known as Wighat.

"The genre-bending musical menagerie formerly known as Wighat was born in early 2006 to singer/frontperson Rubi Cuautle and drummer P. I. Navarro. Guitarist Josh Cochran, bassist Chris Blaisc, and multi-instrumentalist David Fountain round out the eclectic line-up. Lacuna M strives to make each of their compositions as collaborative as possible in order to come up with new sounds and song structures. Their live shows build upon an electric tension between harmony and dissonance, and this energy has steadily drawn larger and larger audiences." - Scrappy Street Team
