Mick and Joel reconnected in the summer of 09 outside of Beep Beep Gallery at a Thy Mighty Contract show. (Nearly four years earlier they toured the UK and Ireland together in the hardcore punk band Black Cougar Shock Unit.) Later that night, Casey joined them at The EARL and, over many pints, a common affinity for Farfisa organ punk provided the spark to start a new band. Casey brought Luci along at the first rehearsal and he's been a fixture from the start. Thomas serendipitously broke a string while tuning Mick's piano and subsequent rock talks lead to an invite to join the group.

Mick most recently played in Early Modern Witch Trials.
Joel plays in 40 Hells.
Casey and Luci play in Authors Apology.

"While the group innovates with smart lyrics, sleek guitar effects and constant Rhodes piano rolls, I found myself propelled into one of my favorite eras of music–the dark trip hop of Portishead, evoking images of bars frequented by Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Pianist Hilary Yarbrough stood out most to me, contorting her legs, leaning, winding up and down the keys while often singing simultaneously–sometimes lead, other times complementing bassist Carrie Hodge’s equally ethereal coos. In addition to her musical talent, I admire Hilary’s wardrobe sense, coveting the royal blue mary janes she used to lightly stomp the floor, wooden heels providing the perfect color contrast. I also want to know where she scored her fashionably faded black dress, dotted with supernova bursts, accentuated with a red belt.

Corey Pallon also proved fun to watch, pounding his drums while chewing a piece of gum, bubble-blowing enhancing his forceful flow." - Bobbin Wages
